Travel Restrictions

All visitors to Egypt need to obtain a visa to enter the country unless they are from a visa-exempt country or countries that are eligible for visa on arrival. Visitors must hold passports that are valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival to Egypt. The visa on arrival must be paid for in U.S. dollars.

• Citizens from the following countries are eligible for the e-Visa:

Albania, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belarus, Bahrain, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Mexico, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay, Venezuela.

State Security approval: Citizens of the following countries need a prior approval from the Egyptian State Security Authorities in addition to holding a visa: Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Mauritania, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Yemen, Syria, Yemen.

As of 17 June 2022, Egypt has lifted all COVID-19 restrictions on travelers coming into the country.

All foreign visitors and Egyptian citizens will enter without the need to show proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test.
